The existing mobile app did not conform to modern app user interface patterns. It was clunky and not pretty. From the beginning of this project, the goal was to design and build an app that focused on a great user experience. This ended up with a gorgeous redesign of the user interface that was simple and clean.
To reach the widest audience possible, it was imperative that the app look great and function well on both kinds of devices. Many tweaks were made to make the app function better on their respective platforms so users felt like they were getting a truly first class experience.
Usage of the official CDC mobile app skyrocketed during the COVID-19 pandemic and there was an urgent need to improve the experience. The rebuild of this app was completed in under 3 months while attending to other urgent needs related to COVID-19.
